"I am running as a Democratic candidate for the 60th District of the Missouri House of Representatives. I am an attorney and have served the families of Jefferson City, Missouri since 1996. I am the mother of two children who attend Helias Catholic High School and St. Peter Interparish School and a managing partner at the law firm of Carver & Michael, LLC.
I have served on the Cole County Juvenile Advisory Board, Rape and Abuse Crisis Services Board, Executive Counsel of the Missouri Family Law Section, and am a past president of the Cole County Bar Association. Currently, I serve as a public member of the Missouri State Committee of Marital & Family Therapists as well as on the St. Peter Interparish Home and School Association.
I have lived in Jefferson City for more than 20 years and have devoted my legal practice to assisting Jefferson City families through what many would consider the most stressful days a family can face, giving guidance and counsel to parents and always working hard to put the needs of children first.
I am running for the General Assembly because I have always believed that if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. It is simply time that the government work for its citizens and I want to be the voice of those who have been overlooked and ignored, or even taken advantage of, for far too long. The time has come to stand up and do my best to truly effectuate change.
I intend to fight for our children by protecting school funding, working to provide medical and mental health resources for our families, and protect our state from attacks against the working class with so-called “right to work” legislation that really only hurts Missouri working families at the benefit of those who already have more than enough." - Sara Michael, MWLC's endorsed candidate for Missouri House District 60.
