"I am a life-long Missourian and passionate defender of working families, children and elderly. I am a retired teacher who continues my service to children and the community with school board service now in my twelfth year.
In addition to an elected position on the Smithville RII School Board, I am an elected member of the Clay County Democrat Central Committee, serving my third term. When elected I plan to continue my work, tirelessly supporting public education and higher education in Missouri. I continue to serve as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Abused and Neglected Children, working to protect more than 60 children and their families in my tenure.
As an elected representative I will continue my role and use my voice to advocate for the most vulnerable. I will continue my work protecting working families as we all deserve and need a voice who will stand up for men and women creating opportunity for us here in Missouri. We must continue to promote and advocate for jobs and fair wages for all working people. I will be that voice for my community and my state." - Sandy VanWagner, MWLC's endorsed candidate for Missouri House District 12.
