"Hello! My name is Marcie Nichols. I am a Democratic candidate for State Representative in the 119th District. I want to earn your vote.
I believe that it’s critical for the needs of ALL Missourians to be represented in our state government. Missouri will be looking for ways to compensate for recent tax cuts. I am a strong supporter of a balanced budget, but I fear that the first line of attack will hurt those most in need. Prime targets will be retirees, elderly, disabled and children. I will be your voice and advocate to continue to provide essential services.
My top priorities:
- Protect Social Security, Disability, Medicare/Medicaid and Affordable Health Care
- Actively work with Missouri Teachers and Administrators to assure our children receive the quality education at Primary, Elementary, High School and College levels.
- Address the Opioid epidemic that has a stronghold on many families within MO House District 119 and the entire state of Missouri
The time has come for legislators to reach across the aisle and find common ground solutions. I will work to make this happen by utilizing communication, compassion and common sense.
I am a lifelong resident of Sullivan, Missouri. I’ve been married to Ted Nichols for 41 years and together we have two children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
I graduated from Sullivan High School and attended East Central College. I was employed by Fidelity Communications for 42 years, eventually attaining the title of Director and finally Vice President of Customer Care. I retired in December 2016 and during the past two years have enjoyed remodeling our dream retirement home, which originally was a rundown cabin on the Meramec River.
This is my first time running for political office. My only political experience is a short stint sitting on the Planning and Zoning Board for the City of Sullivan. My experience in the Corporate world and working for the care of the public gives me insight into caring for the citizens of Missouri. I am looking forward to this journey and hope you will join me.
Let’s support more heart and less hate in Missouri politics!" - Marcie Nichols, MWLC's endorsed candidate for Missouri House District 119.
