"I grew up on a small farm outside of Aurora in the beautiful Ozarks. My childhood was spent exploring the outdoors and of course, doing lots of chores. Growing up on a farm taught me how to work hard, think outside of the box, and stick with something until the job was done. I plan to apply that same attitude when representing the good people of the 157th District. I’ve spent most of my life working with young children and in our public schools. My biggest passion is to improve the lives of young children and help families thrive.
The 157th District deserves common sense solutions to the issues we face. While in office my priorities will be to support our public schools to ensure our children have the educational resources to compete in today’s marketplace and provide support and solutions to those fighting the opioid crisis. Lawrence County raises the most beef cattle in the state and I want to keep us economically strong by partnering with farmers and cattlemen.
My decision to run for state representative was largely influenced by the extremist rhetoric coming from both parties. As a moderate Republican, one of my strengths is that I can listen to both sides of an argument and find the common ground. My hope is that I can do the same in Jefferson City and improve the lives of all Missourians." - Karen Echols, MWLC's endorsed candidate for Missouri House District 157.
